Itselle osoitettu my\u00f6t\u00e4tuntoinen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytyminen on usein vaikeaa \u2013 on helpompaa osoittaa yst\u00e4v\u00e4llisyytt\u00e4 toisille kuin itselle.<\/p><p>Itsemy\u00f6t\u00e4tunto on taito, jonka eteen voi joutua n\u00e4kem\u00e4\u00e4n vaivaa erityisesti silloin, kun on vuosikausien ajan ollut itse\u00e4 kohtaan kriittinen ja ankara. Itseen kohdistuvan kriittisyyden siemen l\u00e4htee it\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n jo varhaislapsuudessa kasvuymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n vahvistamana \u2013 tutkimusten mukaan vanhempien lapseen kohdistaman korostuneen kritisoinnin seurauksena on, ett\u00e4 lapsi suhtautuu itseens\u00e4 aikuisena hyvin kriittisesti. My\u00f6s l\u00e4nsim\u00e4isen yhteiskunnan yksil\u00f6llisi\u00e4 saavutuksia, tehokkuutta ja menestymist\u00e4 korostavat arvot,\u00a0<em>\u201daina hieman enemm\u00e4n ja paremmin\u201d<\/em>, lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4t riski\u00e4 itseen kohdistuvalle kriittisyydelle. Miten voi olla tyytyv\u00e4inen itseens\u00e4, jos ei saavuta yleisi\u00e4 vallalla olevia ihannetavoitteita?<\/p><p>Ihmismieli toimii usein automaattisesti tarjoten tuttuja ajatusmalleja, joista kaikki ei kuitenkaan ole hy\u00f6dyllisi\u00e4. N\u00e4m\u00e4 automaattiset ajatusmallit voivat toimia esteen\u00e4 itsemy\u00f6t\u00e4tunnolle. Uskomus\u00a0<em>\u201djos olen itselleni t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tilanteessa lempe\u00e4, minusta tulee laiska\u201d<\/em>, voi est\u00e4\u00e4 yst\u00e4v\u00e4llisyyden ja lohdutuksen itselle juuri silloin, kun sit\u00e4 eniten tarvitset. Itsens\u00e4 kritisoimisen ja s\u00e4ttimisen seurauksena on nippu hankalia tunteita. Jotta tulee tietoiseksi oman ajattelun aiheuttamasta k\u00e4rsimyksest\u00e4, edellytt\u00e4\u00e4 se kyky\u00e4 l\u00e4sn\u00e4oloon nykyhetkess\u00e4. Kysymys\u00a0<em>\u201dmit\u00e4 min\u00e4 tarvitsen juuri nyt?<\/em>\u201d tarjoaa tilan pys\u00e4htymiselle ja ohjaa suuntaamaan katseen omiin tarpeisiin automaattisten ajatusmallien sijaan. Yst\u00e4v\u00e4lliset ja lempe\u00e4t sanat itse\u00e4 kohtaan voivat tuntua my\u00f6s h\u00f6lm\u00f6ilt\u00e4. T\u00e4ll\u00f6in tunne est\u00e4\u00e4 muuttamasta k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4 itse\u00e4 kohtaan. Ensimm\u00e4inen askel kohti my\u00f6t\u00e4tuntoisempaa tapaa kohdella itse\u00e4 voi alkaa siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 oppii tunnistamaan tilanteita, jolloin kriittinen mieli aktivoituu;\u00a0<em>\u201dOho, olinpa min\u00e4 ankara itselleni!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0ja sit\u00e4 voisi seurata itselle esitetty kysymys \u2013<em>\u201dmit\u00e4 min\u00e4 oikeasti tarvitsen juuri nyt?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0N\u00e4m\u00e4 suuntaavat kohti itselle kohdistettua my\u00f6t\u00e4tuntoa ja yst\u00e4v\u00e4llisyytt\u00e4.<\/p><p>Psykiatri, lasten- ja nuorten psykoterapeutti Jari Sinkkonen on todennut, ett\u00e4\u00a0<em>\u201dihminen tarvitsee l\u00e4heisyytt\u00e4, turvaa ja lohdutusta l\u00e4pi koko el\u00e4m\u00e4n\u201d<\/em>. My\u00f6t\u00e4tunnon tarve ei tunne ik\u00e4rajaa, se on perusoikeus, joka kuuluu kaikille. Aikuisuus ei vie pois perustarvetta tulla kohdelluksi yst\u00e4v\u00e4llisesti ja lohdutetuksi silloin, kun on hankalaa. Vastoink\u00e4ymisten \u00e4\u00e4rell\u00e4 toisen ihmisen osoittama v\u00e4litt\u00e4minen \u2013 my\u00f6t\u00e4tuntoiset sanat ja teot, tuntuvat lohdullisilta ja auttavat jaksamaan. My\u00f6s itseen kohdistetulla my\u00f6t\u00e4tuntoisella puheella ja teoilla on voimaa. Se vahvistaa vastoink\u00e4ymisist\u00e4 selviytymist\u00e4, resilienssi\u00e4, ja on yhteydess\u00e4 hyvinvointiin ja el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaatuun.<\/p><p>El\u00e4m\u00e4 itsess\u00e4\u00e4n tuo jokaiselle eteen vastoink\u00e4ymisi\u00e4, ep\u00e4onnistumisia ja pettymyksi\u00e4 ja se voi tuntua raskaalta. Samalla oman mielen itselle kohdistamat kriittiset, arvostelevat ajatukset lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4t tunnestressi\u00e4, jolloin el\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4 tulee viel\u00e4 kuormittavampaa. Voi my\u00f6s olla, ett\u00e4 l\u00e4hell\u00e4 ei ole ket\u00e4\u00e4n ihmist\u00e4, joka osoittaisi vaikealla hetkell\u00e4 lohduttavia sanoja ja toimisi n\u00e4in tukena vastoink\u00e4ymisten kohdatessa. Itsens\u00e4 kohteleminen lempe\u00e4n yst\u00e4v\u00e4llisesti on hyvinvoinnin kannalta merkityksellinen taito, ja sit\u00e4 voi harjoitella.
